Ships Afloat / Ship Stores

How Ships Ashore Works
Webco Hale has headquarters in Norfolk, VA, and we have 4 large, strategically placed warehouse locations near naval bases in Norfolk, VA, San Diego, CA, Jacksovile, FL, and Honolulu, HI. We have top notch coverage and our distribution systems are streamlined to insure we provide our clients efficient and cost-effective service.
As each ship makes it's own buying decisions, it's important that our Sales Representatives keep continuous contact with the buying authorities. And, due to the ship's need to be mobile, when an order is placed, delivery is required within 48 hours. Our warehouse infrastructure and our company delivery trucks facilitate seamless and timely deliveries of your products.
To meet the needs of the afloat Sailor and Marine, Ship Stores are a quality of life necessity for obtaining basic toiletries, sundries, and high demand items such as soft drinks and confections, and semi-luxury items such as watches and consumer electronics.
The limited cube and space on board each ship restricts selection to the most popular items, with the highest sale potential, being those items that would appeal to young adults, ages 18-22 years of age.
Ashore Stores
There are additional opportunities at the 3 land based ship stores doing over $6.5 million in sales. Navy family members can be stationed in remote and isolated locations such as Diego Garcia (Indian Ocean), as well as San Nicolas Island and San Clemente Island (islands off the coast of California). The Ship’s Stores Program operates Ship’s Stores Ashore to ensure Sailors and Marines have a taste of home when stationed in these areas.
This military channel of business has over 115,000 Authorized shoppers, and last year, they spent in excess of $61.0 million in their retail locations and $10.6 million on vending.
